India Meteorological Department (IMD) Wednesday predicted that under the influence of strong southwesterly winds from Bay of Bengal to northeastern States at lower tropospheric levels, rainfall was likely to continue over parts of the region during the next five days.
Fairly widespread rainfall very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam-Meghalaya, Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds during next 5 days, IMD stated. It also said that isolated heavy rainfall was likely over Assam-Meghalaya till April 24 and over Arunachal Pradesh on April 22, 2022.
