Working Committee asks legislators to resign as promised

Working Committee of the NNPGs expressed the hope that members of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), as primary stakeholders for the future, will collectively resign en masse in the days ahead “to enable an inclusive transitional arrangement for implementation of the Indo-Naga Agreement, for an enduring peaceful coexistence.”
WC maintained that it believed resignations will be “a practical stance” to prove who were or were not for an honourable and acceptable future of “our children and grandchildren”. This was contained in a joint statement issued by WC convener N KitoviZhimomi, co-conveners- Zhopra Vero, Y Wangtin Naga, Hozheto Chophy, Kiumukam Yimchunger, Toshi Walling and Isak Sumi, in the second part of WC’s statement.
The signatories declared that the election slogan of “Election for Solution” in 2018 cannot be repeated in any manner, since this they will not accept a recycle of the same slogan.
