DH&FW orgainses health mela at Chiephobozou

District Health Society, department of Health & Family Welfare (NHM) in collaboration with departments of State Health Authority, Food Safety, Youth Affairs & Sports, Ayush, School Education, Information & Broadcasting, Women & Child Development, Panchayati Raj Institution, Urban Development and Art & Culture, supported by ministry of Health & Family Welfare organised the second Block Level Health Mela at CHC Chiephobozou, Kohima on Wednesday.
According to a DIPR report, NKVIB chairman, Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsu said that it was high time for Nagas to be more conscious about health and well-being since it was the prime factor that would lead them to achieve their targeted goals.
Meanwhile, chief medical officer (CMO) Kohima, Dr. Vezokholu Theyo highlighted the aims and objectives of conducting the health melas.
Short speeches were also delivered by ADC Chiephobozou, Vekhoyi Chakhesang and Chairman (HCMC), Kevipusa Kizeo while vote of thanks was proposed by deputy CMO Dr. Khriesilie Sachu.
Earlier, senior MO Chiephobozou, Dr. Selhounyu highlighted key services available at the Mela. Stalls for Reproductive Child Health, NCD, communicable diseases, eye care, general awareness, ENT and dental were opened for the public where medicines were also provided free of cost. Altogether, 24 villages under Chiephobozou block were covered.
Health melas conducted at Jakhama, Chümou
The block level Health Melas began with Jakhama PHC under Kohima district on April 25.
According to a DIPR report, advisor for Technical Education & Election, Medo Yhokha in his speech said under the leadership of Dr. Vezokholu Theyo, various health activities were being carried out in the district for overall health benefit of the public.
In this regard, he thanked the CMO and her medical team for the initiatives.
Yhokha called upon his people to avail quality health care services with essential medicines through different systems of medicine at free of cost provided by the medical team.
He also stressed on the importance of timely investigation, detection and treatment of any health issues.
Meanwhile, deputy commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie said the centre has been introducing various programmes for the benefit of the people and therefore, he said, the people should avail the facilities in order to achieve the target of the programme.
In his speech, chairman (VHC), Zhopo Richa acknowledged their MLA, medical department, district administration and line departments for their initiatives. Mission Director (NHM), Dr. Thorusie Katery also spoke on key services to be provided during the health mela. An official from Food and Safety also spoke on “food safety on wheel” stationed at the venue where technical personnel were available for consultation.
The programme was chaired by CMO Kohima, Dr. Vezokholu Theyo while vote of thanks was delivered by Dy. CMO, Dr. Khriesilie Sachu.
Meanwhile, in Chümoukedima, block health mela was organised at PHC Chümoukedima with CMO Dimapur Dr. I Moatemjen as guest of honour. The CMO in his speech encouraged the beneficiaries to avail various health schemes and facilities provided in the health unit.
Medical officer (AYUSH) Dr. Liza Aye highlighted activities and facilities available at the Health Mela while Pastor Sezo said the invocation.
Free health check-up, issue of Ayushman health card and digital health ID were also provided at the Health Mela.
Immunity boosters and free medicines were also distributed to the beneficiaries. Altogether, 483 people availed the facilities and health services at the mela.
