A webinar on “The climate lens in journalism” was organised by department of Mass Communication, Mizoram University in collaboration with department of Multimedia and Mass Communication, Patkai Christian College (PCC) (Autonomous) as part of Media Talk 2.0 on April 26.
In a press release, PCC (Autonomous) informed that resource person, award winning journalist, Teresa Rehman spoke on issues of climate change.
Rehman added that North Eastern region was not far from the effects of climate change.
Taking cue from climate condition of Cherrapunji, Meghalaya, Rehman stated that although overall annual total rainfall have not shown drastic changed, the continuous predictable rain of past had vanished in favour of both intense episodic rainfalls indicating that there was hardly any rain in months of November and December unlike earlier days. Faculty, research scholars and students from both institutes participated in the lecture series which was the second edition of “media talk” jointly initiated by institutes.
