In its step towards “Go-Green” mission, it has also successfully commissioned 585 kWp of rooftop solar systems at various railway stations and other service buildings in the last financial year. Out of 585 kWp, 195 kWp capacity was commissioned at Lumding railway station, 100 kWp at Dimapur railway station and 120 kWp at Kamakhya Coaching Depot under Lumding division.
Similarly, 100 kWp capacity was being commissioned at Rangiya railway station and 10 kWp each at Biswanath Chariali and Kendriya Vidyalaya/Rangiya railway stations under Rangiya division. Further, under Alipurduar division, 20 kWp capacity was being commissioned at Dalgaon railway station and 10 kWp each at Kalchini, Dhubri and Salakati railway stations.
Further, to meet the energy requirements, NFR is also all set to commission 1,500 kWp capacity of solar rooftop systems in its jurisdiction in the current financial year. These include 100 kWp at Silchar railway station, 200 kWp each at Guwahati and Kamakhya railway stations under Lumding division.
