Advisor for department of Power, H. Tovihoto Ayemi on Friday, inaugurated the 20 MVA, 66/11kV sub-station in Mon Power House and associated 66kV transmission lines funded by the ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) under North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS).
According to a DIPR report, the advisor in his speech stated that power was a necessity for any activity and expressed hope that with the new installation, economic activities would be boosted in the district.
He lauded the department and the contractors for completing the work in quality and on time.
Acknowledging the hard work and service of field workers, the advisor also advised them to continue working with dedication and sincerity.
Meanwhile, chief engineer (T&G), department of Power, Er. Penrithung Yanthan on behalf of the department thanked the public and landowners for their support and assistance during the implementation of the project.
He stated that the department initiated for installation of 132kV transmission line and 132/33 kV sub-station at Mon which was included under Intra-State Transmission Plan.
The chief engineer also informed that the transmission line would be connected from the upcoming 132/33 kV sub-station at Longleng and has been referred to Central Electricity Board which has shown its appreciation.
While briefing on the technical report, additional chief engineer (T&G), department of Power, Er. Wabangmeren Jamir informed that the project was implemented through EPC turnkey contract mode at a revised sanction cost of Rs. 20.68 crore bifurcated into two packages for ease of project implementation with LoA value of Rs. 7.88 crore and Rs. 12.80 crore respectively.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by superintending engineer, department of Power, Er. Kasho Chishi and also witnessed a special number by Mon chamber choir.
Later, vote of thanks was delivered by executive engineer, Mon electrical division, Er. K. Tingtenmoie Konyak.
