In a press release, LMRSU media cell informed that on May 10, the union inspected the undergoing road construction which has remained “stagnant”.
The union said on March 22, 2022, the concerned contractors had verbally assured LMRSU officials that black topping of the road would commence within 15 days and completed within 45 working days.
However, LMRSU said no progress has been made since the date of assurance.
In this regard, LMRSU said it has summitted a representation to M/s Northeast Enterprises on May 12, 2022 and urged the registered company and concerned contractors to expedite the work within the end of May 2022.
Failing to complete the work, LMRSU cautioned that it would resort to “any form of democratic protest” and that it would not remain “mute spectator”.
