Appreciating the police for nabbing the drive along with the vehicle in the May 25 unfortunate hit and run incident, the Dimapur Ao Youth Organization Dimapur (DAYO) demanded that the case be reinvigorated so that thorough investigation is carried out to its logical conclusion.
In a statement, media cell of DAYO stated that it has been following case with all seriousness to ensure that such tragic incident does not reoccur.
The youth body said that thousands of students and pedestrians have been commuting in the road stretch from Green Park to the Cricket Stadium daily.
Therefore, to mitigate the risk and safety of the public, DAYO appealed to the concerned authorities to construct proper sidewalk beside the road with necessary speed brakes at the earliest.
DAYO also suggested that area being security zone with many future sporting destinations, more surveillance cameras should be installed at strategic locations.
