Toppers of HSLC and HSSLC examinations 2022 while attributing their success to teachers, parents and God on Tuesday shared their success stories and future plans.
In an interview with Nagaland Post, Delphi Oinam, who topped HSLC examinations 2022, credited her success to teachers, parents and God.
A student of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Dimapur, Delphi Oinam disclosed she had no specific time table for study. However, she said her determination and consistency were keys behind success. Besides studying, she enjoys painting. For her future plans, she wished to become a doctor.
Asked how she handled the online/offline mode of classes, she said that it was never a problem, adding that she equally enjoyed and adopted the mode.
HSSLC Arts stream topper, Limasungla said that she was consistent on her daily study table. During her free-time, she loves to read books. Limasungla from Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, also credited her success to teachers, parents and God. She wished to pursue theological studies. She also quoted a Bible verse (Mathew 6:33) “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”.
Ngamjong JN Yanlem, who topped HSSLC science stream, said that he had “competitive expectations”. Ngamjong from St. John Higher Secondary Residential School, Dimapur said he spent six hours daily before the exam and extra hours during the exam.
On the mode of classes, the science stream topper said he preferred offline over online mode. He wishes to become neurosurgeon/ Psychiatrist. His passion includes reading writing and loves music.
Unlike other successful students, Subhansu Jaiswal, who topped in commerce stream, also attributed his success to his parents, teachers and God. Jaiswal, who believes in consistency, said he was determined in his process of preparation. Jaiswal from Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, Dimapur aspires to become a chartered accountant. He has been engaging in co-curricular activities such as digital marketing, coding and is currently learning stock marketing. His piece of advice: have clarity of concept and focus on the process.
Girls fare better yet again
Nagaland Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Tuesday declared the results of HSLC & HSSLC Examinations 2022, with girls continuing to fare better than boys.
In HSLC Examination 2022, out of 28938 candidates, a total of 18721 candidates qualified the examination with a qualified percentage of 64.69%. The overall pass percentage has decreased by about 5% this year.
With 10021 girls and 8700 boys qualifying the examination, the girls have again done better.
Delphi Oinam from Don Bosco higher secondary school, Dimapur secured top position by scoring 595 marks (99.17%).
In the top 20 list, there were 62 candidates out of which 18 were boys and the rest 44 were girls.
In HSSLC Examination 2022, 16 institutions under Arts stream, 10 institutions under Science stream and four institutions under Commerce stream secured 100% pass result.
The overall percentage was 80.64% for Arts stream, 82.28% Commerce stream and 88.24% Science stream.
Limasungla Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur topped the Arts Stream by scoring 488 marks (97.60%), Subhansu Jaiswal from Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, Dimapur emerged as topper in Commerce Stream scoring 493 marks (98.60%) and Ngamjong Jn Yanlem from St. John Higher Secondary Residential School, Dimapur with 476 marks (95.20%) topped the Science Stream.
Compartmental Examination 2022: Due to the pandemic, the NBSE could not conduct HSLC Compartmental Examination in the same year. However, with the improved situation, the Board informed that HSLC Compartmental Examination 2022 would be tentatively held in the last week of June 2022. Necessary information will be given out in due course of time.
