Ayush Mission organises ‘Yogatsav’

Commemorating the countdown to International Day of Yoga (IDY), which will be celebrated on June 21, National Ayush Mission, directorate of Health & Family Welfare (H&FW), in collaboration with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), observed “Yogatsav” at the directorate of H&FW, here, on Thursday.
With 19 days to go for the celebration of the 8th International Day of Yoga on the theme “Yoga for Humanity”, minister for H&FW, S. Pangnyu Phom said Yoga was “much needed for our state”.
He added that for the past two years, no mass demonstrations were organised due to the pandemic.
The minister further informed that the ministry of Ayush, ministry of Tourism and Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) were planning to come together to announce “My Yoga My Heritage”, similar to “My Life- My Yoga”, to remind people that Yoga was not a religion but was “for all religion and race.”
The session was chaired by SPO, National Ayush Mission, Dr Seyiekhrietuo John, assistant director H&FW, Dr T Bendangtula offered invocation while principal director H&FW, Dr K Vikato Kinimi delivered welcome address, followed by common yoga protocol.
It may be mentioned that the Morarji Dasai National Institute of Yoga, ministry of Ayush organised Yoga Mahostav-2022, an event to commemorate 100 days countdown from April 7 to June 21 globally.
