Sakhi OSC building inaugurated in Mokokchung

The newly constructed Sakhi One Stop Centre (OSC) building (near nurses’ hostel IMDH), Mokokchung was inaugurated on Monday with commissioner & secretary, department of Social Welfare & administrator, NSSWB, Martha R. Ritse as special guest.
According to a DIPR report, Martha R. Ritse in her speech acknowledged all the stakeholders for the dedication in bringing the Sakhi OSC building, Mokokchung into reality within a short time.
She said the one-stop centres were intended to support women affected by violence, in private and public places within the family, community and workplace.
It also gives holistic services (health, psychosocial support, legal and police services) to survivors under one roof and free of cost, Ritse informed.
In this regard, she urged upon the responsible department and all the stakeholders to create awareness by letting people know that such a place was in the district to support women “affected by violence.”
In his welcome address, deputy commissioner (DC), Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh said the function of Sakhi One Stop Centre was a sort of single window system for girls as it handles all the cases related to violence against women.
He said the womenfolk should not hesitate to come to the centre for help as everything was administered by women at the centre.
Further, the DC asked all concerned to come together so that the centre would function as per its name in letter and spirit.
The programme was chaired by centre administrator, Sakhi-OSC Mokokchung, Wangshinaro Yaden, dedicatory prayer was offered by MTBA associate pastor, Yanglo Pongen, brief report on Sakhi-OSC Mokokchung building was presented by SDO (C) Hq & nodal officer, Sakhi-OSC Mokokchung, Sentilong Ozukum, special song by Kidongkumba and benediction was offered by Ngati Baptist church pastor, Imsunaro.
