Drawing attention to the contention between two opposing groups of the NPF party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Nagaland unit said it was shocked to note the claim made by three times chief minister and present Lok Sabha MP, Neiphiu Rio that 40,000 people attended the NPF general convention held at DDSC stadium on September 20.
In a press note AAP state unit convener, Dr. S. Amos Lkr said this was opposite to what Rio’s adversary Kuzholuzo (Azo) Neinu said while speaking at the NPF Dimapur division office, Landmark Colony Dimapur. On the contrary, Azo claimed that 80% of the people who attended the convention were non-Nagas with no voting rights from the adjoining areas of Assam, Dr. Amos said. Azo had also hit out at the rival group by accusing them of being “a pack of wolves in sheep clothing”.
In this regard, AAP wondered as to whether those people who attended the rally would be able to vote for NPF led by Rio in the coming Assembly Election, 2018. AAP termed it as a “political drama intentionally done by corrupted politicians to misguide innocent Nagas of Nagaland who has been suffering in the hands of hypocrites for the last fifteen years of NPF misrule.”
On the statement made by Dr. Shurhozelie, during the NPF central consultative meeting at Kohima that– “if they (rival group) provoke us too far, we may be compelled to open the corruption files openly”.
In this regard, AAP asked Dr. Shurhozelie as to why he had been mum for the last 15 years “when robbery was committed under his nose. Why he is coming up with this revelations at this crucial juncture when Nagas suffered for 15 years in the hands of this two shameless money giants according to him.”
AAP said if “Dr. Shurhozelie was true to himself then he should cooperate and coordinate with the CBI investigation which has recently started on PDS multi crore scam of Nagaland against his former chief minister and present Lok Sabha MP, Neiphiu Rio and his defacto chief minister – one Vinay Kumar Sethi alias notorious Tinku”.
AAP observed that the multi-crore scams which was carried out under the name of non-existing locals would not lead to its conclusion, unless and until “the kingpin, notorious smugglers of essential commodity Tinku Sethi is not pinned down by investigating agencies.”
It said, Dr. Shurhozelie, as a conscious keeper of the NPF party, must cooperate and coordinate with the investigating agencies so that Nagas of Nagaland will get rid of this type of devilish forces who were eating up the fruits of Naga society, so that Nagas of Nagaland would get their due share of essential commodities like rice, sugar, dal, wheat, kerosene in cheap affordable rates.”
As NPF stood for safeguarding the interest of the Nagas, AAP asked Dr. Shurhozelie “to file a PIL against Tinku Sethi, who was the main conspirator…”
It also alleged that “Tinku Sethi was involved in a murder case way back in the year 1997 (23rd April 1997)” but was not arrested due to his alleged association with the political bosses of NPF despite an arrest warrant being issued against him on February 19, 2008.
