NSCN (I-M) Zailad region while re-affirming the “government standing order” to strictly ban any kind of hunting in and around Zailad region has informed that “stringent action” would be initiated against any perpetrators.
In a press release, NSCN (I-M) through its MIP stated that biodiversity loss was people’s loss and that excessive wildlife hunting leads to extinction and disruption of ecosystem.
Pointing out that wildlife has been hunted and traded for centuries, it said that the flora and fauna in and around Zailad region was a gift of mother nature.
“The unethical practices of fishing and hunting of wild animals, birds using chemicals, poisonous substances, explosives, electrical energy, gums, traps and rampant forest fire has led to gradual decline of species creating an ecological imbalance”, MIP further stated.
