Cabinet revokes June 3 notification, claims Azheto

Staff Reporter

Azheto Zhimomi, MLA, who recently expressed dismay over the cabinet’s flip-flop on district boundary demarcation, Thursday claimed that the state cabinet has decided to revoke June 3 notification concerning the inter-district boundary between Peren and Chümoukedima (erstwhile Dimapur) districts.
Speaking to Nagaland Post on the sidelines of an event here, Azheto said the cabinet meeting, which was convened on June 13, 2022, decided to revoke the June 3 home department notification and take up the December 20, 2021 notification, which placed all villages under Dhansiripar Block under the jurisdiction of the newly created Chümoukedima.
It may be noted that on June 8, Western Sumi Hoho had served a seven-day ultimatum on the State government to revoke the June 3, 2022 notification. The Home department, in a notification dated June 3, 2022, notified the inter-district boundary between Peren and Chümoukedima (erstwhile Dimapur) districts.
