With an objective to capacitate and empower youths, a one-day workshop on Right to Information Act, 2005 was organised by Chid Friendly Dimapur (CFD) ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) on June 18.
In a press release, AIDA informed that advocate, Elizabeth Thungchanbeni E Ezung, stated that RTI was based on the Preamble of India, the fundamental rights, fundamental duties and the directive principle of state policy.
Participants were taught on formal procedures of filing RTI and were briefed on the four cardinal rights of the children as enshrined by United Nation’s Convention for the Rights of the Child – “No Discrimination (Article 2), Best interest of the child (Article 3.1), Inherent Right to life, survival and development (Article 6), Respect for the view of the child (Article 12)”.
