The annual “World Music Day” and the 7th edition for Kohima was held at The Heritage here in Kohima on Tuesday evening organised by Musicians Guild.
Helping the people unwind after two long years of being confined at home following the onset of the pandemic, the World Music Day 2022 saw youths of Kohima city coming out in such big numbers.
True to its name, the annual World Music Day has become a day of recreation and celebration for music lovers in every corner of the world.
Youths of Kohima also joined the rest of the world in celebrating the day in the most befitting manner, a day filled with music.
The line-up consisted of new and upcoming artistes supported by renowned artistes sharing the stage and bringing good music to the gathered fans.
Starting off the long list for the night, Lapla Oungh ended the misery of the impatient concert goers who had been waiting for over an hour.
Keeping the momentum alive, Worngam took the stage and was quickly followed by After 20s, Dieze Sothu, ProDGs, Temsu Clover and Zayie with a mesmerizing performance.
Later in the night Abdon Mech, Imliakum Aier & The Electric Cool Kid, Powerfaith, KL Pamei, Moko Koza, HIME, Wishess (Manipur), Elysian and Fifth Note took the stage and rounded off the day.
World Music Day has a unique theme every year and likewise this year it was “Music At Intersections”.
This theme was used to coordinate every programme this year. The goal of Music Day is to recognise the contributions made by singers and musicians throughout the world to the realm of music.
