Over 200 participants attended the two-day workshop/seminar for Cluster Artisans under AHVY Schemes held at State Academy Hall, Kohima on June 24 and 25.
The programme was sponsored by the office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, government of India and implemented by NEPED, government of Nagaland.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Rhosietho Nguori, who inaugurated the workshop as special guest, thanked the DC (Handicrafts), Ministry of textiles, Government of India for assisting the artisans through various schemes & platform.
He also encouraged the artisans to make use of the available resources to sustain livelihood and reminded them to be smart, not just hardworking to excel in their profession.
Handicraft Promotion Officer, HSC, Kohima, Rajib Chandra Roy highlighted on various schemes under DC (Handicrafts).
At the workshop, resource persons highlighted on various topics like, importance of GST for handicraft sectors, Mudra loan for artisans, importance of design & technology in handicraftse-commerce, creation of design in textiles for export quality, market survey for uninterrupted supply of products etc.
The resource persons also showed live demonstration on various crafts. Interaction and group discussion hour was also conducted at the workshop.
