KVK Longleng on June 24 organised a kisan mela on “Jal Shakti Abhiyan” and saw active participation from agri and allied departments under Longleng district.
According to a press release, special guest Throngdiba Sangtam, SDO (Civil) in his speech encouraged farmers to take advice from different departments with regard to availing farmer’s schemes and stressed on importance of water and its conservation.
Meanwhile, theme speaker DAO Longleng, T. Supongmar Longchar spoke on significance of “Jal Shakti Abhiyan” and schemes available under “Bhagidari Prathmikta Hamari”. He also stressed on importance of water and its conservation.
Further, technical officer, KVK Longleng, Yumi highlighted various activities of water conservation and measures undertaken by KVK in the district.
Officials from Agriculture, Soil & Water Conservation, Horticulture, Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Divisional Forest, and Fishery departments spoke on importance of water and activities undertaken by their respective department and urged farmers to avail schemes provided by the state government.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by technical officer, KVK Longleng, Wati Longkumer and vote of thanks was proposed by KVK Longleng, Namei.
