DHS Peren launches IDCF; sensitises public on diarrhoea

District Health Society (DHS) Peren launched the Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) at Jalukie Women Welfare Hall and across all health units in the district on Monday.
In a press release, district media officer, Shekho Sophie informed that during the programme, deputy chief medical officer (CMO) Peren, Dr. Limakum Aier in a short speech spoke on the key actions and prevention of diarrhoea.
He stressed on the importance and use of ORS and zinc during diarrhoeal episodes among children and assured that it was a safe treatment which helped a child recover faster.
In her keynote address, DPO (RCH & UIP) Peren, Dr. Kiholi gave an overview on IDCF which she informed would commence from June 27 till July 11 across all health units in the district.
During the fortnight, ORS and zinc will be distributed to children along with their mothers/care-givers suffering from diarrhoea and demonstration on preparation of homemade ORS and awareness on prevention of diarrhoea would also be given to parents/caregivers at all health units.
