A day after the official inauguration of Niuland district, the Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (SKK) has appealed to the state government and the administration for an all-round development of Niuland district.
In a press release, SKK media cell congratulated the people of Niuland district and asked them to continue cooperating and supporting the state government in bringing more development to the new district.
It said that Niuland district was required “for better and efficient administration” as it shared a border with Assam and had connectivity with Kohima, Dimapur, Chümoukedima, Tseminyu and Wokha.
Further, SKK, on behalf of the Sumi community, extended gratitude to chief minister Neiphiu Rio and governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi for recognising and establishing Niuland sub-division to a full-fledged district. It also acknowledged PHED minister Jacob Zhimomi and other legislators for their “support and generosity”.
