Cleanest colony: DMC sets up panel of judges

The panel of judges for “a better Dimapur initiative of cleanest colony competition 2022” under the aegis of Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has been constituted with Nukshimatong (EAC Sardar) as convener, B Mhajan Tsopoe (DNSU vice president) as member secretary along with Duoneinouo Kire (NWHD president), Gangangpou (NCD joint secretary), T Onen Jamir (GBs general secretary) and Zasivikho Zakiesato (DUCCF general secretary) as members.
In a press release, convener Nukshimatong and member secretary B Mhajan Tsopoe informed that the criteria for judging will be “purely based” on ten criteria for both small and big colonies—garbage management; drainage management; burning of waste; community toilet; community participation; sanitation committee activities; jungle/foliage clearance; tobacco free zone; construction and demolition waste not littered/obstructing traffic or general public and clearance of Residential Sanitation Tax (RST) up to date.
In this regard, all colonies under DMC have been advised to keep their colonies clean, to form a “sanitation committee”, to initiate cleanliness drives from time to time and to appeal to the general public to be responsible and maintain hygiene based on the said criteria.
