Western Sumi Students’ Union appeals schools, colleges

Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU) has appealed to the schools, colleges and universities to refrain from conducting any events during Tulini festival.
In a press release, WSSU media cell stated that as per government rules, Tulini was a restricted holiday and a significant customary festival practiced over the years by the Sumi tribe. In this regard, WSSU appealed to all the educational institutions to refrain from conducting exams, tests or functions during the festival period—July 6 to 8. Further, the union stated that it would hold the responsible authorities liable “for losses and damages incurred by students in the event”, if any exams and functions were conducted.
