LSU conducts first phase of school/college visitation

Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) held its first phase of visitation to schools and colleges in Wokha town from August 9 to 19, interacting with students, educating them on how to be good students and achieve their goal. 
A press note by LSU finance secretary, Yanthanthung Yanthan stated that LSU for the tenure 2017-2020 had formed Grievances Cell and Action Committee Cell for welfare of students. It stated that grievances cell would be headed by its vice president to deal with the problems and grievances faced by the students in particular and public in general of Wokha district. 
Action Committee Cell (ACC) would deal with the students loitering around in school uniform during class hour, taking intoxicating substances, chewing tobacco, immoral activities etc. LSU stated that on report of such activities, the union would initiate against any defaulters.  
LSU also sought cooperation from every individual and urged them to make use of the grievances cells. Further LSU requested all the shop owners near educational institutions not to sell any tobacco, drugs, alcohol etc and do abide the COPTA Rules.
The second phase of inspection would be carried out soon in all the government schools in Wokha district including the villages.
