The All Nagaland Private School Teachers Association (ANPSTA) Wokha unit, while firmly it support to the 30-day ultimatum served to the principal director, School Education Kohima Nagaland by the ANPSTA central on August 17 has urged the government to adhere to the demands made by central ANPSTA.
A joint press note by ANPSTA Wokha unit president, O. Grace Tungoe and general secretary, L. Solanthung Ezung stated that, though the association has been requesting the department to conduct recruitment exam to fill up various teacher post lying vacant, yet the department chose to remain silent on the request made by the association for so long which only added to increase the members of unemployed trained teachers. It pointed out that department had failed to recruit the trained teachers since 2013 till date despite the fact that there were more than 500 teachers post lying vacant (govt. sanctioned post) caused due to retirement/death/new post creation. ANPSTA also mentioned that the government produced more than 200 trained teachers in a year under the SCERT, Nagaland, yet the concerned authority was reluctant to appoint the qualified trained thereby these untrained ones occupy their undeserved place through backdoor. ANPSTA Wokha unit based on the above facts has urged the concerned department to adhere to the demands made by the central ANPSTA, Nagaland.
ANPSTA cautioned that in the event of failing to meet the demands, the association would be compelled to initiate extreme steps and the concerned department shall be solely held responsible for any untoward incident that may arise in the course of seeking justice.
