High level agriculture team from Arunachal visits Nagaland

Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, Trade and Commerce, Wangki Lanwang, parliamentary secretary for Trade and Commerce, Tesam Pongte, director of Fisheries, Josil Taba, and three departmental officials from Tirap, Chauglang and Longding visited on Nagaland August 24. 
According to DIPR report, they were accompanied by additional director of Fisheries, Imtitongzuk Longkumer, joint director, Agricultural Jacob Yanthan and other officials on their visit to project sites at Dzuleke, Khonoma, Jotsoma and Jakhama.
Terming his visit as a beautiful moment for him to be in Nagaland, the minister, Wangki Lanwang said that though a small village, the concern and respect for nature by the people of Dzeleke was a big message not for India and Nagaland but the world as a whole. Taking the example of the system in Arunachal Pradesh the minister suggested on interlinking the tourism industry with that of fisheries to boost the economy of the village. He said that he has learned something new and that is the effort being put into development and conservation naturally. 
Later, a short interaction programme was held at Tourist Lodge, Dzeleke. Minister appreciated the sincere efforts of the villagers in conserving the environment and nature, donated Rs.50,000/- to the village. 
Also speaking at the programme, the chairman, village council, Avi thanked the visiting team for their visit and assistance. He appraised that the villagers have set stringent rules towards conservation of the same. He further sought the assistance from the government for extension of fishery projects in the village. Organic vegetables and products were displayed at Khonoma village. The team later visited the memorial tomb of G.H. Damant MACS who was killed during the great battle of Khonoma and the Khonoma fort.
Additional director of Fisheries, C. Imtitongzuk said that Dzuleke people were so calm, hard working and honest.
