One college girl swept away by strong current

One college girl, student of St. Joseph’s College Jakhama was swept away Saturday morning by strong water current at Dzükou point this morning while returning from Dzükou valley. The Dzükou point (river) lies between Jakhama and Viswema village.
Sources said the victim and her friends were returning from Dzükou valley this morning when the incident took place. 
The victim was identified as Imtiyala Jamir studying in 5th semester, department of English. With intensive search by the Jakhama Students Union, college students and the villagers, the dead body was retrieved around 2 p.m. 
The victim reportedly hails from Chungtia village under Mokokchung district and presently residing in Chandmari colony. 
It was also informed that St. Joseph’s College management, teaching staff and students attended the funeral this evening and the mortal remain would be taken to her native village at Chungtia, Mokokchung Sunday morning.
