Nagaland University Students’ Union, Lumami (NUSU-L) celebrated its 20th varsity freshers meet on August 25 at I. Ihoshe Kinimi hall on the theme “Erudite” where DC Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The chief guest inspired the students by sharing his struggles and difficulties of his early days. The most important thing he said was the education that he received from govt. school because his father could not afford a better private institution. He also encouraged the students to set goals, acquire continuous knowledge , work hard with devotion and perseverance to be successful in life.
The programme was chaired by H. Hisaka Kibami and was followed by invocation by Bichumo N. Lotha, convenor Lotha fellowship and welcome address was given by K. Chumseli Anar, president NUSU (L). Special song was presented by from Lumami vocal band and special prayer for the freshers was invoked by Elika, chaplin NUCF, speech on behalf of Fresher’s by Litsuvi Rume and special appearance was given by Bendangtila. Vote of thanks was given by Esther Lohe, GS, NUSU (L) and benediction by Joel, convenor, Eastern Nagaland Students’ Fellowship.
The second session of the programme was hosted by Nungshilila and Steve where Repekaba and band and also all the seven hostels of Lumami participated and entertained the crowd. The title of Mr and Miss Fresher was bagged by Hazarat Adam and Narola Langur, followed by Mr Personality by K. Buche and Miss Congeniality by Sejang. The title of Mr and Miss photogenic was bagged by Tekasangba and Ninen. The show for the freshers’ was choreographed by Serfudin Ali and T. Lemteshi.
