Nagaland chief minister, T.R. Zeliang on Friday said “only slogan for solution” will not bring real solution, but it required a “formula” to resolve the vexed Naga political issue.
Zeliang said this while interacting with journalists from Kohima at his office chamber on various issues concerning the Naga talks, 14th Finance Commission, Oil Exploration and plights of Myanmar Nagas, a press note from the CMO stated.
“Government of India (GoI) understands the unique history of Nagas and NSCN (I-M) also understands the difficulty of GoI and they know what is best for solution,” Zelaing said.
Zeliang said he was optimistic that solution was possible and was hopeful that the entire northeast would be peaceful once solution is finally arrived at.
On Oil exploration, Zeliang informed that Mokokchung, Mon, Dimapur, Peren and Wokha districts were the oil belt of Nagaland.
He said the tussle over oil exploration would soon be resolved as talks were being held with the Center over the modalities and percentage of shares between stakeholders.
On the entry problem of Myanmar Nagas to Nagaland, the chief minister said that the Home department had been put on the job to ascertain the incident.
Since the Assam Rifles have reportedly denied that they asked for Aadhaar cards, Zeliang said the case would soon be confirmed during the next meeting.
