HMC Chetheba circle urges for spot verification of roads

Highway Monitoring Committee (HMC) Chetheba circle has appealed the government to assess and spot verify the affected roads damaged during the onset of monsoon and also due to abandonment of two lane project by Maytas & Gayatri Construction under SARDP-NE.
A press note by HMC Chetheba circle convenor, Vepozoyi Theyo stated after the abrupt earth-cutting and abandonment of the two-lane project by the company, the villages connected by the stretch of the road faced untold sufferings due to deplorable conditions of the road caused by monsoon which was also left unattended by the department.
It said residents of Thenyizumi village and other organisations had rendered voluntary service in clearing and repairing of the Chakhabama-Zunheboto via Chetheba/Chazuba roads on August 22.
Though the road was cleared and opened, HMC said movements of heavy vehicles have been restricted between Chakhabama-Chetheba. HMC also appealed the truck owners and drivers, state transport buses to take note of the advisory.
It reminded the government that considerable fund had already been spent by the individuals and NGOs at village level and has thanked individuals, organisations, VCC &VDB of Thenyizu village for their relentless job over the years.
