NVCO asks Governor to remove parl secys & advisers; demands

Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO) has urged Governor of Nagaland, P.B. Acharya to remove the 26 parliamentary secretaries and nine advisers in Nagaland as the Supreme Court of India has already declared the post of parliamentary secretaries as unconstitutional in its July 27, 2017 judgement and order.
In a press note, NVCO press and media cell has called upon the governor to uphold the Constitution of India as the constitutional head of the state.
NVCO has also demanded for establishment of Lokayukta and State Human Rights Commission in Nagaland; it has asked Chief Minister Office (CMO) Nagaland to “stop taking or demand commission from public funds meant for infrastructural development in the name of party fund so as minister/parliamentary secretary’s deduction of their commission and minister/secretary quota, etc.”
NVCO has also asked the government to stop backdoor appointments and has asked government to initiate CBI enquiry into cases such as MKR Pillai, fuel adulteration, backdoor appointments, kerosene & PDS scam, etc.
It has asked government to protect the rights of the Naga indigenous people under Article 371A of the Constitution of India. With the application of Goods & Services Tax (GST) in the state, NVCO said the state government must stop all others taxes.
Meanwhile, NVCO has assured the citizens that it would continue to fight against corruption in the state.
