Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has informed that the construction work on Doyang Bridge (Governor’s Camp) at Liphanyan halted due to non-sanctioning of fund by the government is expected to begin by September or October.
In a statement, NFHRCC secretary press and info. Victor K Lotha said that the contractor had re-assured to the committee and to the public on July 1, 2017 that “he will not abandon the work till completion on any given circumstance”.
The contractor had also assured that the work will commence in the coming working season (September/October), NFHRCC said.
NFHRCC also acknowledged the commitment of the former chief minister Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, who had informed the committee that a proposal on the foot hill road had been sent to the Central government. It therefore, asked the current chief minister to take up the project on top priority.
Further, NFHRCC reaffirmed to stand by its January 28, 2014 resolution, that any issue related to foot-hill road should be brought before the committee for clarification and information.
