Based on specific intelligence regarding presence of cadre an armed, troops of 3 Assam Rifles (AR) under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) along with police representative launched an operation on July 31, at New Market Area, Kohima and nabbed one person.
According to PRO, HQ IGAR (N), AR nabbed Chetei Shiu son of Pushou Shiured with one Pt 22 mm pistol with magazine. PRO said the arrested person revealed that he wanted to sell the weapon in Kohima. Later, apprehendee along with recovered items was handed over to OC, North Police Station, Kohima for further investigation, informed PRO.
