Dimapur District Excise has seized assorted Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) on various occasions in and around Dimapur district and has arrested several people in this connection.
According to Dimapur district Excise, acting on an intelligent tip-off District excise personnel manning Newfield check gate from July 17-24 seized 828 bottles of illegal IMFL and apprehended four persons.
The arrested persons have been identified as Falx Achumi (35) son of Zekhe Achumi of 3rd mile Dimapur, Hutto (30) son of Nitokhu of 4th mile Dimapur, Binod (37) son of Denish of Batta Char Ali, Dimapur and Hekato (46) son of late Hezuio of Burma camp. A vehicle Honda City (AS09-9840), Gypsy (NL-01C-1849) and Alto (NL-05-2354) were also seized.
In a separate incident, Sanjay Kumar (19) son of Pradhan Prasad of Ghorapatti Dimapur was arrested by District Excise from Oriental Colony on July 24and recovered 120 bottles of IMFL and seized one vehicle. All accused were arrested and booked U/S 44 of NLTP Act 1989, informed Dimapur district Excise.
