Stir causing shortage of medicines: NMDA

Even as shutter down strike of all Dimapur-based goods transport offices entered sixth day, Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association (NMDA) Wednesday informed that the strike was causing an acute shortage of life-saving drugs and other medicines putting the lives of patients at risk.
In a press release, NMDA joint secretary and media cell in-charge Arijit Sharma urged the district administration and law enforcement agencies to resolve the issue with the transporters.
NMDA also requested the transporters to start their services on humanitarian grounds.
ANGMU lunched strike with effect from September 16 as authorities failed to arrest miscreants responsible for August 26 firing incident, in which one employee of TS Goods Carrier was injured.
