Nagaland: BJP ‘karyakartas’ serve food in Dimapur

Commemorating the birthday of advisor, Power, H Tovihoto Ayemi, BJP 1 Dimapur–1 Mandal conducted a distribution drive, where packed foods were provided to around 1000 people across Dimapur, on the theme, “serving the needy”, here, on Thursday.
Addressing the media, BJP 1 Dimjapur–1 Mandal president, LR Anthony stated that the same programme was being carried out, every year at different locations, commemorating the advisor’s birthday.
He stated that the tradition of distributing free food was initiated by Tovihoto, even before he became MLA and asserted that the tradition would continue.
He informed that the homeless, beggars and passengers were invited to lunch at Dimapur Railway station and that free food was served to people across Dimapur in strategic locations.
The foods were served to street vendors at Super Market area, inmates of Sub Jail, homeless people at Durga Mandir area, Traffic Police on duty, travelers and homeless in and around Dimapur Railway Station.
