To address the flood situation in Dimapur, the district administration has designated DDSC Stadium, Gologhat Road as relief camp for flood victims.
According to an official bulletin, the Dimapur District Incident Response System (IRS) has been formed with DC Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome, as the RO and ADC Dimapur, Sara Jamir, as the incident commander. IRS structure had been divided into operation sector, transport branch, logistics and shelter unit, food unit, medical unit and evacuation unit. Officers from various departments and DDMA members have been assigned to take care of their respective units. DC Dimapur has directed all the sections for setting up specific units immediately.
IRS team led by ADC Dimapur, Sara Jamir, also visited various flood affected areas and food stuff and offered monetary assistance. Ekhoyan (Domokhia) Rs. 84,000, Naharbari Rs. 50,000, Toulozhuma Rs. 50,000, Nepali Kashiram Rs. 40,000, Thahekhu Block VII Rs. 50,000, Thahekhu village Rs. 50,000, Kushiabill Rs. 50,000 and Seithiekema Rs.50,000. It was informed that remaining affected areas would be paid on July 23.
Food unit of Dimapur district Incident Response System (IRS) distributed food items including rice, dal, potatoes, salt and mineral water to the displaced people camped at Naharbari and Ekhyo Yan (Domokhia) July21, 2017. The 32 Assam Rifles also distributed food packets to the flood affected victims at Ekhyo Yan.
Meanwhile, DC Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome, has informed all responsible public/NGOs to contact SDO (C) Nyempo Wallim (9612921898) and EAC (8575872575) at the emergency centre (EOC) for any assistance/donations towards the flood victims.
DC also notified that safe drinking water facilities would be available at DDSC Stadium from 10am onwards for flood affected people. Similar facilities would also be available at Burma camp and Dhobinala on July 22 from 7am to 8:30am
In this regard, DC has informed all concern to report to designated locations for delivery of services in providing safe drinking water: police/home guard &DC at DDSC Stadium (10am), 173rd Bn CRPF at Burma Camp (7am to 8:30am) and 32 Assam Rifles at Dhobinalla (7am to 8:30am).
