All registered rural libraries under Art and Culture department under Kohima and Peren districts that are non-functional would be delisted after physical verification.
In a press note, district cultural officer Kohima Nagaland, Peihau Nsarangbe, stated that the order as per the directive from the head office. It said verification would be carried out by the office at the earliest.
It has informed that records would be checked and those libraries who have not collected books for the last three years would be delisted without further information. Libraries yet to collect the books have been asked to do the same at the earliest.
DCO has also directed all registered rural libraries to put up signboards outside their library complex for easy identification by the public.
