DIMAPUR: The department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS) on Wednesday, organised anti-rabies vaccination camps across the state to mark the international awareness campaign— “World Rabies Day” (WRD) on the theme “One Health, Zero Death”. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), 2022 theme highlights the connection of environment with both people and animals. (Correspondent/Staff Reporter/DIPR)

Kohima: Office of the CVO observed “World Rabies Day” at Veterinary Hospital premises, wherein, 133 pets including dogs and cats were administered with anti-rabies vaccination.
The drive was conducted by a team of veterinarians led by veterinary surgeon, Dr. Elizabeth Yhome.
DIMAPUR
DIMAPUR: In Dimapur a free anti rabies vaccination and health camp was organised at Duncan Council Hall. A total of 315 pets were vaccinated and more than 150 were provided with free vitamins mineral mixture, deworming and shampoos. Earlier, during a short programme, chief veterinary officer (CVO) Dimapur, Dr. Kelesekho Tsukru delivered the keynote address, short speeches were delivered by Duncan Basti council chairman, VCC and deputy CVO Dr. Veswulhu.
Facts about rabies was presented by VAS Dr. Vikishe Sumi and a PowerPoint presentation on zoonotic importance on rabies was delivered by VAS Dr. Langnyei Phom.
The programme was chaired by DLDO Dr. KN Zubemo Humtsoe and vote of thanks was proposed by VS Dr. Kenalo Khath.
CküCHÜMOUKEDIMA
Chümoukedima: ADC Chümoukedima and CTC administrator Dr. Kuzo Vadeo flagged off “World Rabies Day” programme at Chümoukedima Town Council (CTC) hall.
According to a DIPR report, Dr. Kuzo Vadeo delivered a speech while CVO Chümoukedima, Dr. E. Kepfoh emphasised on the importance of anti-rabies vaccination.
Altogether, 150 pets received the anti-rabies vaccination.
WOKHA
Wokha: In Wokha, the programme was held at Veterinary Hospital Wokha wherein, deputy director, V&AH Wokha, Dr. E. Mhonlumi Lotha delivered the keynote address.
According to a DIPR report, around 250 pet dogs were administered with free anti-rabies vaccination.
