The inauguration programme of Carl Rogers Institute of Mental Health and School Counselling (CRIMHSC) was held at its building, opposite Don Bosco College, P Khel, Kohima village on Monday. The institute was inaugurated by former director, SCERT, T Sekhose.
According to a DIPR report, the institute was founded with the primary objective to promote mental health and school counselling with non-directive approach to counselling as propounded by Carl Rogers.
The institute will provide training on specific skills in psychotherapy, methods and techniques of counselling and activities related to mental health for teachers, students and parents.
It will also conduct programmes including—group therapy, individual therapy, career talk, family and marriage therapy, couples therapy, child counselling, addiction counselling, etc.
