Department of Business Administration, St. Joseph’s College (SJC) (Autonomous) Jakhama successfully organised the 13th Convergence Fest, an annual management fest of the college on September 30 under the theme “Limitless Possibilities”. Advisor, Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr. Nikiesalie Nicky Kire graced the occasion as guest speaker. Addressing the gathering, guest speaker, Dr. Nicky expressed his happiness to be a part of the event. While sharing his concern of the possibility of managing all the events in a single day, he encouraged the students to come together often, to interact, and to learn from each other by participating in such events.
The advisor also urged the students to come up in the field of entrepreneurship and all other types of professions which would benefit them as well as the state. He also cautioned students against becoming “SSOs” (simply sitting officers), one who simply sits and does nothing but leads a luxurious life at the cost of their parent’s earning.
Earlier, principal, SJC (A), Rev. Fr. Dr. George Keduolhou Angami offered the invocation prayer, director of the department of Business Administration, K. Zubemo Humtsoe delivered the welcome address, and convenor of the 13th Convergence Fest, Daveilu Pao gave a brief introduction on ‘Convergence Fest’.
Highlights of the fest included performances and special appearances by renowned artists such as Peleno Zhasa, KL Pamei, Big Dane and Lapla Chang among others.
Later during the prize distribution ceremony, Tetso College, Dimapur bagged the overall champion of the fest and Sazolie College, Kohima bagged the best disciplined team. The fest concluded with vote of thanks pronounced by co-convenor, Mughaputo Achumi. Altogether, 9 different colleges from Kohima and Dimapur districts and 11 departments from SJC (A) participated in various events.
