Commemorating Forestry Graduates’ Association of Nagaland (FGAN) 25 years, the association celebrated “Wildlife Week 2022” on the theme, “recovering key species for ecosystem restoration” on Friday at Kohima Mini Zoo, Kohima.
In a press release, FGAN informed that Kohima Mini zoo formally known as “R. Belho Wildlife Breeding Home” was started 20 years ago. At a brief programme, owner of the zoo, Theja Belho informed that the zoo currently has 20-30 different types of wildlife, which was mostly donated or rescued. Belho said the primary objective of the zoo was to breed, populate and release the animals back into their natural habitat.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by FGAN vice president, Imsuwapang Pongen. The programme attended by students and teachers of Government High School New Market, Kohima was followed by a tour of the zoo.
