State Environment and Forestry Training Institute (SEFTI) Dimapur, organised a convocation of the 42nd batch of forest guard training at SEFTI, Signal Bosti, Dimapur on October 11.
In a press release, SEFTI Dimapur stated that a total of 25 forest guards of Nagaland Forest department successfully completed the six-month long training programme.
Speaking as chief guest at the programme, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Head of Forest Force (PCCF & HoFF) Dharmendra Prakash encouraged the trainees to implement what they had learned in the training at the field.
He advised them to adopt schools in their places of posting to disseminate forestry activities to students and reminded them that they were “the foot soldiers of the department”.
Dharmendra Prakash exhorted the trainees that they knew more about what was going at ground level more than the officers and that they should always find opportunities to help create good image of the department.
At the programme, SEFTI director, M Shakiba Yimchunger delivered the annual convocation address and congratulated the trainees while speech on behalf of trainees was delivered by Imlong Chang, from Intanki National Park.
Later, vote of thanks was proposed by range officer, Medziphema, Florence Sangtam and former faculty of the institute.
