TKM closes down schools, EBRC

Following the expiry of 15-day ultimatum served on the school education department on October 10, 2022, the Tzürangkong Kaketshir Mungdang (TKM) under Mangkolemba sub-division, Mokokchung on Tuesday closed down all the schools and Educational Block Resource Centre (EBRC) for an indefinite period or until their demands were met.
In a press release, TKM president Imlisunep informed that the decision for closure was taken after the department failed to respond to the union’s demand for deployment of appropriate number of teachers in schools under their range.
TKM has cautioned that the mode of protest could be “altered” if no positive response was given by the department.
