Tikhir Union Dimapur joins NCD

Tikhir Union Dimapur (TUD) joined Naga Council Dimapur (NCD), here, on Wednesday.
In this regard, an oath-taking ceremony was held at NCD office for council’s office-bearers, senior councillors and TUD president S Wontsükiü.
The oath taking ceremony was presided over by NCD president Etsungmomo Kikon wherein the member solemnly affirmed to serve the council faithfully and bear true allegiance to it and its constitution.
Two new members from TUD– Rutsangkui and Longkamse – were inducted as councillors.
With the induction of the two new councillors, Kikon said 20 Dimapur-based tribal hohos were affiliated to NCD along with Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD), Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU), Dimapur Urban Colonies Chairmen’s Federation (DUCFF) and GB union (Sadar) Dimapur.
He also thanked TUD for coming forward to strengthen the council and work for the welfare of citizens.
Wontsükiü also expressed his gratitude to NCD for welcoming TUD into its fold and for accepting him as a councillor. He said the union would extend full support to the council and stand with it in any situations.
Earlier, invocation prayer was proposed by NCD finance secretary M Sapong Chang, who also welcomed TUD into the council’s fold. He claimed that NCD had been working for the welfare of all citizens, adding that the joining of TUD had only strengthened it further and would together continue to work for the welfare of general public.
