Mangmetong-Okotso triennial meeting held at Okotso

Okotso village and Mangmetong ‘A’ Khel Pudu-Menden triennial meet 2022 was held on Friday at Okotso village.
In a press release, Okotso Village Council chairman Thechamo Ngullie and Mangmetong sessional secretary Lima Wati stated that during the meeting, the following resolutions were adopted—no compensation shall be demanded for developmental works; Doyang-Mangmetong road construction under PMGSY in particular in Mangmetong and Okotso village jurisdiction; mass social work to be organised for repair of Mangmetong–Okotso stretch of PWD road jointly by the two villages and next triennial meeting will be held at Mangmetong village in 2025.
In their speeches, T.L. Merry and Dr I. Lolen Imchen lauded the legacy of the forefathers and exhorted members of the two villages to preserve the “gifts that deserve to be cherished.”
Earlier, the meeting was chaired by Okotso VDB secretary Benthungo Murry, invocation was offered by Okotso Baptist Church pastor, Rev. O.Y. Ngullie and welcome address was delivered by Thechamo Ngullie.
Highlights of the programme included special song by Erenbeni Ngullie & Co, and cultural presentation by Nrimimo Ngullie & Co.
Later, vote of thanks was proposed by Sulanthung Ngulie, followed by mass prayer and benediction by Okotso village A.G. Church, associate pastor Ezanthung Ngullie.
It may be mentioned that the meeting, introduced by pioneers of Okotso and Mangmetong villages, is held between the members of the two villages every three years.
