Body of drowned victim retrieved

A team comprising of Home Guards & Civil Defence (HG&CD), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Wokha and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), after two days of search operation retrieved the body of a man, identified as Aghoto Chopi (38) of Lotisa New Village, who reportedly drowned in Doyang River on October 31.
According to a DIPR report, on receiving information regarding a drowning incident, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Wokha deployed the HG&CD, SDRF Wokha and NDRF to retrieve the body.
A team of 18 personnel led by a sub-inspector conducted the search operation for two days and on November 2 managed to retrieve the body along with the assistance of volunteers from the community.
