65-year-old man convicted for raping minor

Special Judge POCSO, Tuensang had on November 23, 2022 convicted a 65-year-old man under section 376(f) IPC and section 6 POCSO Act for raping a six-year-old minor girl.
According to additional public prosecutor, Tuensang, Kenile Kent, special judge Longshithung Ezung sentenced M Tangsoi, son of late Mongtham, to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10, 000 under section 5 POCSO Act and 376AB IPC.
In default of payment, the convict would undergo further sentence of six months.
However, the period of detention already undergone during investigation and trial (three months and seven days) would be set off against the period of sentence.
The case was investigated by additional sub-inspector Chilliam and prosecution was led by Kenile Kent, special public prosecutor, POCSO Tuensang.
