As part of a series of activities planned as an outreach from the Indian Navy to the north-eastern states and building awareness about the Indian Navy, a two-day multi-specialty medical and wellness camp was organised Tuesday by Indian Navy in Nuiland district commenced on Tuesday.
According to a DIPR report, the camp was inaugurated by additional director general medical services (Navy), Sergeant rear admiral Ravinderajeet Singh and District Commissioner (DC) Niuland, Sara S Jamir.
The multi- specialty camp included consultation by medical specialist, gynaecologist, ENT specialist, ophthalmologist, radiologist and dental specialist, deputed from various commands of the Indian Navy. The medicines prescribed by the specialists were distributed free of cost to the patients.
The services offered during the camp besides specialist consultation and free medicines were, complete body analyser, bone mineral densitometry, ultrasonography, lab investigations and anthropometry. Health education, training on cancer prevention and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) were carried out for the civilian population attending the camp. The first day of the camp saw more than 250 people of Niuland and nearby villages availing the facilities.
Terogvunyu: One day health camp was organised by the Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP), Divisional Management Unit (DMU) Kohima, along with Dr. Anshida K (AIIMS Delhi) on November 27 at Terogvunyu Village.
A press release by the department stated that village members availed facilities such as eye check-up, blood pressure check, sugar level test and arthritis, along with medicines and prescriptions.
Jalukie: A free medical camp was conducted by Aine Nursing Home & Diagnostic Centre (ANH & DC) Jalukie in collaboration with Nagaland Tribal’s Development Association (NDTA) and Public Decorum Jalukie on November 26 at Jalukie town. In a press release, ANH & DC gynaecology, paediatrics and other general services were also provided to the public. Free screening of Malaria, TB, HIV, RPR, hepatitis B and free vaccination to children among other services were provided.
