Programmes in view of Christmas celebration

Naga People’s Front (NPF) celebrated pre-Christmas at the party’s headquarters, here on Monday. Sharing the Christmas message, NPF working president, Thenucho Tunyi extended greetings all the rank and files of the party. He said Christmas was a season to renew friendship, a time to rededicate oneself and an opportunity for everyone to come closer to God.
Earlier, the celebration was chaired by secretary general, Achumbemo Kikon and invocation by P Shing Khiam.
Scriptures were read by Khriezobeinuo Sanchu and S Akho Leyri while central women wing presented special numbers.
ACVS: All Commercial Vehicle Association (ACVS) Wokha comprising of six units namely, Auto Union, Wokha, All Nagaland Taxi Association Wokha Unit, truck union, bus union, pick-up and mini truck organised a carol night under the banner of ACVA on December 18.
According to a DIP Report, hundreds of vehicles from all the six units took part in the carol spreading the message of joy and peace through songs covering almost all of Wokha town and adjoining villages.
Delivering Christmas greetings, ACVA president, Renpi Ngullie said the carol was organised, especially for the drivers, as they celebrate this season holiday with their love ones.
He said the objective was to spread the gift of love, the gift of peace and the gift of happiness as people celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
KLBC: Kohima Liangmai Baptist Church (KLBC) celebrated pre-Christmas on December 18 at the church premises, wherein KLBC Pastor Rev. N. Silubo Zeliang said Christmas was a time of spending time with the family and building relationship around with “spiritual improvement”. He stressed on the “power of togetherness” and spending time with family and friends. Rev. Zeliang said the “power” of Christmas spirit was being humble and getting closer to God.
NDPP Chozuba A/C: National Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) unit of the 18 Chozuba A/C celebrated advent Christmas on December 17 at Phusachodu Village under Phek district with Rev. Dr. Kedungulo Mero as the speaker.
A press release by NDPP 18 Chozuba A/C informed that in his message, Rev. Dr. Kedungulo Mero emphasised on spreading love and peace to mankind as Christmas is the most important festival for Christians.
He reminded that Christmas was not only a time for celebration for the birth of Jesus Christ but also to seek forgiveness, reconcile and restore with the birth of Jesus Christ.
Rev. Mero asked the people to seek God’s forgiveness so as to restore the relationship and receive God’s blessings while people embark on a new year with new hope.
In his address, Kudecho Khamo said Christmas was a time of joy and thanksgiving and reminded the gathering that Jesus Christ was born to save the human race from their sins and asked the gathering to uphold Christmas spirit in the real sense of Christmas.
The programme was led by women organization 18th Chozuba A/C president, Khwuvolu Nienu; invocation was said by assistant pastor, Phusadochu Baptist Church, Mulukhoyi Murao and a special song was presented by Vetholu Rhakho.
