ATMA organises Skill Training of Rural Youth at Zani Village

A weeklong Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY) organised by Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) at Zani Village, Dimapur culminated on December 17.
A press release by ATMA Dimapur stated that delivering a welcome address, project director, ATMA Dimapur, Dr Ithika C Swu highlighted the importance of vocational studies.
He stated that Skill Training of Rural Youth aims at imparting skill-based training to rural youth on agri-based vocational areas in compliance with National Policy on Skill Development & Entrepreneurship-2015 in agriculture and allied areas to promote employment in rural areas.
Dr. Swu said STRY’s objectives was to offer modular skill training opportunities to rural youths including farmers and farm-women, based on local needs and create a pool of skilled manpower to perform farm and non-farm operations.
The resource persons of the programme were Technical Assistant ICAR Jharnapani, Dr Moatoshi Jamir; block technology manager Chümoukedima, Dr Tiatula and assistant technology managers, Kaiho Achumi and Aketoli Chopy.
The programme concluded with awarding certificates to the participants and a vote of thanks by deputy project director, Avitoli K Yeptho. A total of 15 participants registered for the training programme.
